I happened upon Love Theory Bridal on my birthday last June, and I have to say, it was love at first sight. I was instantly smitten with the breathtaking gowns and the whimsical shop’s gorgeous ambiance. I dropped off my card and connected with the lovely owner, Nikki, sometime later. Trust me, if I would be in the market for a wedding dress, Love Theory would. be. the. spot. No doubt. It speaks to my heart of hearts…and I’m super picky when it comes to aesthetics so there’s that, too. I know what I like immediately when I see it and I like this shop a lot. (By the way, typing that last phrase reminded me of the “I love you like you” scene from As Good As It Gets). If you’ve got the same taste in movies, then pretty please give me a follow.
But, let me backtrack just a tad. My boys and I refer to Geneva Illinois as The Little City. It is the most darling, postcard-of-a-town, and serves as an oasis for fun, food, and taking an idyllic break from the everyday. I’m so glad I found it and now live about 30 minutes from the heart of The 3rd Street Promenade. From The Little Traveler to Grahams 318 vintage ice cream shop, Geneva reminds me of Sonoma mixed with a little Fred Segals (but wayyy more affordable) mixed with classic, midwestern charm. Geneva is distinctly different in its offerings from anything else in the Chicagoland area and the vibe is simply adorable. I would live (or at least rent photography studio space ) in Geneva if I could. Maybe one day.
I think the experience of shopping for a gown should be an unforgettable one. With many online and in-store bridal shops vibing for your attention, I would say nothing beats touring a few spots to immediately get a feel for the ambiance, the staff, and the offerings…even before you try on a dress. I think wedding dress shopping can feel tailored to your wants and needs – and you should be made to feel extra special. I appreciate the warm, welcoming vibe of Love Theory. The shop is the perfect mix of exquisite modern dressing, meets cozy chic. (Plus their accessory line up is super thoughtful and tasteful – the kind of items you’ll want to use after the big day). This adorable bridal enclave also smells quite delicious. So good in fact, that I’d love to nestle in their sofa with a cup of hot cocoa and not be in a terrible hurry to leave (and btw, they offer that too, right next door!).
From heavenly dresses by Muse by Berta Bridal and Claire Pettibone to their special private label collection, there’s something for every Chicago bride and beyond.
Be sure to visit Love Theory Bridal and give them a follow on Instagram. I think there is a lot to appreciate here, no matter your vibe or budget as a bride. Plus, the owner is kind and approachable…and when it comes to wedding dress shopping that’s something to surely love.
Enjoy this special time,
Babes and The Bungalow Boudoir
